With 150kW of power and 500Nm of torque on all automatic variants (420Nm on manual), HiLux offers the grunt you need to go harder, faster and further.

The 4x2 variant can tow up to 2,900kg[G6][K12]. Towbar inclusions vary by grade and are available on selected diesel variants.

All HiLux Diesel 4x4 variants can tow up to 3,500kg. The HiLux Battery Electric variants can tow up to 2,000kg.

4x4 running gear

4x4 running gear

For superior off-road traction, the WorkMate 4x4 single-cab (AT), Rogue, Rugged X, and diesel SR and SR5 variants feature a rear differential lock. Part-time 4x4 (on selected variants) provides extra control in challenging terrain.

SR and SR5 Battery Electric models do not include a rear differential lock.

    [G6] Maximum vehicle braked towing capacity is subject to state and federal regulatory requirements. Before towing, customers should consider the vehicle’s limitations, including towing capacity specifications, gross vehicle mass (GVM), gross combined mass (GCM), kerb weight specified by the manufacturer, and ensure that individual front and rear axle load limits are not exceeded as also specified by the manufacturer.

    Vehicle payload calculation is GVM less kerb weight or as otherwise specified in the vehicle owner’s manual. Actual payload is affected by any added load to the vehicle, including the number of occupants, luggage, accessories, and tow ball download weight. It is important to consider the actual payload, to ensure the fully loaded vehicle remains within the specified GVM limits.

    [K12] Toyota recommends use of a Load Distribution Hitch (LDH) when towing loads greater than half of the vehicle’s GVM or as specified in the Owner’s Manual. Based on road conditions, an LDH may not be suitable. Refer to toyota.com.au/basic-towing-guide. Toyota Genuine LDH sold separately at additional cost. Warranty conditions apply.
